Mada's Meals ("we," "our," or "us"), operated by Conspiracy Den LLC, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address.
• Dietary Preferences: Food allergies, dietary restrictions, cuisine preferences, cooking skill level, and taste preferences you enter to personalize your recipe recommendations.
• Saved Recipes: Recipes you like, save, or add to meal plans.
• Family Profiles: If you use family features, the names and dietary preferences for family member profiles you create.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including recipes viewed, swipe patterns, and feature usage.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and optimization.
• Analytics Data: Anonymous usage statistics collected through Firebase Analytics to help us improve the app.
• Advertising Identifiers: On the free tier only, and only if you opt in through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, an advertising identifier (IDFA) may be used to show more relevant ads. You can decline, and ads will still appear but will be non-personalized.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide personalized recipe recommendations based on your dietary needs
• Generate AI-powered recipes tailored to your preferences
• Generate recipe images to help you discover new meals
• Save your liked recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists
• Enable family sharing features for family plan subscribers
• Improve our app and services
• Communicate important updates about the app

AI-Powered Features

Mada's Meals uses artificial intelligence to generate recipe suggestions and images. When generating recipes:

• Your dietary preferences and restrictions are sent to our AI providers to create personalized recipes
• No personally identifiable information (name, email, etc.) is sent to AI providers
• Only dietary preferences, cuisine choices, and cooking skill level are shared for recipe generation
• AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and should not be considered medical or nutritional advice

Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored securely using Firebase (Google Cloud Platform)
• We use industry-standard encryption for data transmission (TLS/SSL)
• Account authentication is handled securely through Apple's Sign in with Apple service
• API keys and sensitive credentials are stored securely and never exposed to the client app in plaintext

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide our app:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, analytics, and storage — Privacy Policy
• Google Gemini AI: Recipe text generation and image generation — Privacy Policy
• OpenAI: Recipe image generation — Privacy Policy
• Anthropic Claude: Advanced recipe generation for complex dietary needs — Privacy Policy
• Google AdMob: Advertising on the free tier (see the Advertising section below) — Privacy Policy

These services process data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum information necessary to provide our recipe generation features.

Subscription Data

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

• All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store
• We do not collect or store any payment or credit card information
• We receive only your subscription status and tier to provide the appropriate features

Advertising

Mada's Meals shows advertisements provided by Google AdMob on the free tier of our app. Paid subscribers (Plus, Premium, Family Plus, and Family Premium) see no advertisements.

To serve and measure relevant ads, AdMob may collect and process the following:

• Device identifiers (IDFA / IDFV) — only when you opt in via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt
• Approximate IP-based location (country / region only)
• Device type, operating system version, and language
• Anonymized in-app behavioral signals (which screens you visit, how long you stay, whether you tap or dismiss ads)

We do not share any of the following with AdMob:

• Your account or email address
• Saved recipes, dietary restrictions, or family member profiles
• Voice transcripts or text searches
• Subscription tier or payment information

If you decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, ads will still appear but will be non-personalized (contextual only). To revoke ad-tracking consent at any time, go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iOS device and turn off tracking for Mada's Meals.

Data Retention

• Your account data is retained while your account is active
• You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings
• Upon account deletion, your data is permanently removed within 30 days
• Anonymized analytics data may be retained for service improvement

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data
• Export your data
• Opt out of non-essential data collection

Children's Privacy

Mada's Meals is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
